grateful. humbled.

I don't know about ya'll, but for me, I sometimes still need my mom like I did
when I was a kid.  No one else can put things into perspective or ease my stress
quite like she can.  Today she brought me a little care package, even though
the pep talk alone was enough to make everything better.  I am a lucky lady.

therapy

I don't know what it is about lately, but I've sure had a rough go of things.  I keep
hoping and intending for each day to be better than the last but everything feels
like a struggle.  Could be the change of seasons, could be the string of less than
perfect luck I've been experiencing, could be the ridiculous amount of creativity
I'm required to produce on a daily basis. . .all I know is that self doubt and heart
ache keep managing to sneak in every time I forget to look on the bright side.
I'm also confronting the idea that the reality I've been living in is only a simple
illusion.  It's a lot to process, I'm thinking it's easier to just be with all of it and let
it run its course.  In the meantime, I'm going to keep posting the small things that
inspire me from day to day.  They are there, real, and they highlight each day.

we the free indeed

I must admit, I've been ever so slightly underwhelmed with Free People the last few months.  The clouds have parted though and I am crushing BIG TIME.

bright side

I woke up REALLY late today.  I believe I was having a nightmare about getting yet
another ridiculous traffic ticket.  But in my panic, I manged to find time to spend $4
on a plain cup of coffee because I have this theory that if you tip them extra when
you're broke it can only put abundance in motion. . .or something like that.  Anyway,
while getting through the gate at work I dropped the poor thing. . .splat!  It landed
upside down and when I picked it up the lid fell off.  I managed to save a few ounces,
and I am incredibly grateful for those few ounces.  But needless to say, the day has
started out a little shaky.  Good thing beauty is abundant. . .
